Flyers Beat Marlins, 5-0
|
Joe Spruill never let Ft. Myers get something going. The Pennsauken right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Flyers to a 5-0 win. The victory gives the Flyers a record of 23-18.
The tension was thick in the top of the fifth inning. With the bases loaded and Ft. Myers trailing 4-0, Joe Spruill had to get a big out. On a 1-2 fastball, he retired Jesús Velázquez, who grounded out.
