McNeil No-Hits Buzz
|
Santa Barbara Golden Cranes starter Nelson McNeil came up big today at Crane Field with an exceptional 4-0 outing against the Salt Lake City Buzz. Not only did he whip them, but McNeil held them hitless, too.
"My arm was a bit sore in warmups," confessed McNeil. "Sometimes you go out there and you're not feeling all that hot. You get into the game and all of a sudden in the seventh inning you look up and see the scoreboard and think to yourself, 'Oh, my goodness, I have a no-hitter!' You're so focused on what you're doing, it just happens."
In the course of the no-hitter, McNeil collected 5 strikeouts and surrendered 1 walk -- a day good enough to get his name in the history books.
