Buzz Get Clonked by Tritons, 6-3
|
The Jersey City Tritons topped the Salt Lake City Buzz, 6-3, in USSL Triple A action at Jersey City Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Jersey City pitcher and Troy, New York, native Rusty Williams. Williams, now 1-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. Jonathan Young closed it out for his 6th save.
Christian Reynolds drew 1 walk for Jersey City. The 29-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Masao Myoga. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Bobby Buck. "But it's got to translate into wins."
The misery continues for the Buzz, which has now dropped 13 in a row.
