Baton Rouge picked up a win at Jerome Grounds, bumping off the Bakersfield Nobles, 4-3. Pitcher Lance Barber was a major reason the Brass emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Barber, now 6-3. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. Young-jae Chong collected save number 7.

The outcome might have been different for Baton Rouge, had it not been for León García, the 26-year old first baseman . García stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Baton Rouge up, 4-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Baton Rouge manager Daniel Edwards.
