Nobles Beat Dodos, 4-2
|
Hialeah designated hitter Jon Melanson had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-2, to Bakersfield at Jerome Grounds. Melanson went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Juichi Kanno earned the save for Bakersfield, his 7th of the year. The Nobles lead the Premier AAA by 7 games.
António Vega went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Bakersfield. In the bottom of the fourth, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Vega delivered for the Nobles. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Bakersfield on top, 2-1.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Vega said after the game.
