Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Kingfishers
|
Pittsburgh got a first-rate effort from pitcher Todd Hunter, who frustrated Boston hitters en route to a 2-1 Kingfishers triumph at Pittsburgh Grounds. The winner in relief was Juan Valseca. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 1-3. Pittsburgh has now won 5 games in a row.
The Kingfishers procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Tao Kaukini. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"What a buzz," said Kaukini after it was over.
