Syracuse Slaps 4-3 Loss on Reserves
|
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys did just enough to sneak past the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 4-3, at KC Reserve Stadium. Syracuse pitcher Shuji Ando, in particular, had a standout performance. Thomas Sangrey sewed up the save, his 22nd. The third-place Squirrel Monkeys have won 5 straight.
Syracuse took the lead in the top of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Iván Marrero stroked a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Squirrel Monkeys.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ando.
