3-1 Triumph Runs Nobles Streak to 8 Games

The Baton Rouge Brass got a superb performance from pitcher Pedro Cruz. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bakersfield. The Nobles won the game, 3-1. Cruz threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Miguel López, the winning pitcher, is now 3-0. He went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 4 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 2. Ronald McDonald finished the game for Bakersfield and earned his 3rd save.
Bakersfield took control in the top of the sixth. With one out and the bases empty, Chin-seok Chong hit a solo home run to make it 1-0, Nobles.
"The clubhouse vibe is great," said Bakersfield manager Jesús Román.
The wins continue to add up for Bakersfield, with the latest making it 8 in a row.
