Late Magic Gets Alaskan 4-2 Win
|
Dodos Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the Hialeah Dodos and Alaskan Humpbacks.
The exploits of first baseman Steve Covington, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2047 draft, helped the Alaskan Humpbacks defeat the Hialeah Dodos, 4-2. Covington went 4-4 with 3 doubles. The 4th-place Humpbacks lifted their record to 38-38.
The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Covington delivered big-time for Alaskan, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Dan Carter. The game-changing hit put the Humpbacks on top, 3-2.
"We'll savor this win," Covington told the Alaskan Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
