Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Buddy Patton, the Syracuse Starks defeated the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 9-5. Patton was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Starks. Mike Park snagged the win in relief. In 4 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 4-2 on the season. Syracuse is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Patton had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-0 cutter from Horace Smith, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Starks a 9-5 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Patton.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Patton told the Syracuse Citizen.
