Ben Walters led Baton Rouge to a triumph over Syracuse. The final score was 4-0. The catcher went 3 for 4, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 1 run and added 1 RBI. Ramón Marte came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Baton Rouge has now won 4 straight, while the Squirrel Monkeys have lost 3 in a row.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Brass Field seemed to enjoy watching the USPL Triple A action.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Syracuse manager Scott Garrison. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
