Monsters Get Past Alaskan for 4-3 Win
The Monongahela Monsters scored a tight 4-3 win versus the Alaskan Humpbacks at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Monongahela pitcher Martin Elzey held his own in the contest. The save was credited to Luis Boll, his 15th. After today's action, Monongahela sits at 33-33; Alaskan slips to 33-33.

Monongahela took a 4-3 lead on Nicolae Ispas's 8th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Ispas hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Alaskan pitcher Poom Saksansin shaking his head.
