Syracuse first baseman Colton Pennington had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Baton Rouge at Brass Field. Pennington was 2-4 with 2 home runs. Carlos Rosado, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Baton Rouge leads the Premier AAA by 2½ games.

Joseph Vowles electrified the crowd in the bottom of the ninth when he took Syracuse pitcher Thomas Sangrey deep. His solo home run sent the Brass home winners.
