Sacramento Gets 3-2 Win
|
Sacramento picked up a win at Stark Stadium, toppling the Syracuse Starks, 3-2. Pitcher Ismael Mena was one of the reasons the Redlegs triumphed. Mena, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Redlegs move to 31-30 with the win, while the Starks drop to 21-40.
The Redlegs grabbed the lead in the top of the sixth. With one out, Tony Marino, who is tied for 4th in the PAAA with a .365 on-base percentage, hit a solo home run off Bryant Clark, putting Sacramento in front, 3-1. For Marino, it was his 8th home run of the season.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager John McGrath.
