Rainbeaus Beat Redlegs, 4-3
|
Sacramento catcher Edward Panther had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Panther was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Kansas beat the Redlegs, 4-3. The winner was Gerjan Muijen in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Roberto Sánchez took the loss. Víctor Ramírez was called on to finish, recording his 13th save.
The Rainbeaus got a big at-bat from third baseman Christian Karembeu. For the game, Karembeu was 2-4 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 19th double of the season gave Kansas a 4-3 lead.
Sacramento manager John Brown said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Kansas, at 29-28, holds down 6th place in the Premier AAA.
