The Syracuse Starks had to overcome a good performance from Monongahela pitcher Ángel Santingo to claim a 3-1 win at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Santingo went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Mang Zhong snagged the win in relief. In 4 innings, the left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits. He's now 1-0 on the season. Tim Buck picked up the save, his 1st.

Ramiro Rivera, the 29-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rivera contributed a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put Syracuse up, 2-0.
