Redlegs Walk It Off for 27th Win of Season
|
Syracuse got a terrific performance from pitcher Shuji Ando, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sacramento Redlegs. Sacramento won the Sacramento Sanitation Station contest, 4-3. Ando threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Félix Hernández, now 3-3, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Syracuse's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Sacramento center fielder Pablo Hernández, facing Michael Galloway, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Redlegs the 4-3 win.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Hernández told the Sacramento Daily News.
