Redlegs Earn 4-3 Win Versus Squirrel Monkeys
|
The Sacramento Redlegs beat the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 4-3, at Sacramento Sanitation Station. The Redlegs got a fine performance from right fielder Graeme Wilshaw, who was 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Félix Hernández, credited with the win, is now 2-3. He allowed no runs on no hits. Syracuse's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Sacramento trailing 3-2, Wilshaw hit a fastball from Thomas Sangrey for a 2-run home run, giving the Redlegs the walk-off win.
"We found a way to get it done," Wilshaw said.
