The Baton Rouge Brass beat the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 7-3. Baton Rouge pitcher and Sydney, Australia, native Lance Barber led the way. In 6.1 innings, Barber surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The Brass raised their record to 29-22.
Baton Rouge relied on the bat of Juan Jiménez to get the win. The catcher produced a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Brass ahead, 7-0. For the game, Jiménez had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
