Monongahela got a terrific performance from pitcher Brian Folger, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baton Rouge Brass. Baton Rouge won the Brass Field contest, 2-1. Folger threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Matt Jenkins in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Brian Folger took the loss. With the victory, the Brass upped their record to 24-21.

Jon Kelly, the Baton Rouge shortstop, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 1-0, Brass. For the game, Kelly was 1-3.

"The old adage is true," said Kelly. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
