The Hialeah Dodos got a superb performance from pitcher Kevin Horton. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Monongahela. The Monsters won the game, 10-4. Horton threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Monongahela is now 19-17.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Stu Roberts was at the plate when Monongahela scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Monsters to go in front, 4-3.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Roberts.
