The 11-8 Kansas win over Baton Rouge was due largely to Tu Che. The Rainbeaus catcher went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs. Kansas reliever Hugh Hudson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Paul Rhodes shouldered the loss. Víctor Ramírez picked up the save for Kansas, his 4th of the year.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Che delivered big-time for Kansas, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Paul Rhodes. The game-changing hit put the Rainbeaus on top, 7-6.

"They played a better game than we did," said Baton Rouge skipper Daniel Edwards.

The 4th-place Rainbeaus go to 17-15.
