In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Port Royal Disaster topped the Hartford Pride, 4-1, in M3L Triple A action at Pride Park. The standout performance belonged to Port Royal pitcher and Iquique, Chile, native José Pérez. Pérez got the win, improving to 5-7. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. Pérez allowed 1 run.
Port Royal used a well-timed hit by Edgardo Becerra to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Disaster ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I like what I saw today," said Port Royal manager Austin Case, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Disaster improve their record to 38-48 with the win over Hartford.
