Reserves Rally For 6-4 Win
|
Getting offensive support from Manny Costello, the Athletic Club KC Reserves topped the Hialeah Dodos, 6-4. Costello hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Reserves. Gunnar Hicks, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits. Nicholas Beer recorded the save, his 5th.
Larry Burton hit a 2-run home run off Gunner Cross in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Reserves ahead, 5-4. In addition to the homer, Burton had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"We all want to win," said Burton. "We all want to do our part."
The first-place Reserves improved to 15-9.
