Sacramento picked up a win at Dodos Ballpark, bumping off the Hialeah Dodos, 3-1. Pitcher Zosimo Pavlakakis was a major reason the Redlegs emerged victorious. Pavlakakis, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Octávio Ortíz sewed up the save, his 4th.
Sacramento used the clutch hitting of Duane Mullins to snag the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Redlegs ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Mullins.
The win gives Sacramento a record of 9-11.
