The Port Huron Blitzkrieg did just enough to secure a victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-3, at Monster Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Yuan Thian. Thian got the win, improving to 7-2. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. Thian allowed 2 runs. After today's action, Port Huron sits at 36-25, while Vermont falls to 32-29.
Port Huron used the bat of Naomichi Kodo to get the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blitzkrieg ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
In postgame remarks, Thian said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
