Pride Prevail, 1-0, Over Pawnee
|
The Hartford Pride went home winners at Whips Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Jacob Cox. Cox stifled the Pawnee ParksNRec, enabling Hartford to grab the 1-0 win. Cox picked up the win for Hartford, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. The last-place Pride improved to 24-34.
An impactful at-bat came in the top of the second inning. With a runner on 3rd, the batter, Jaime Montés, reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 1-0, Hartford, and helped them go on to win.
"I guess we'll all be a happy family for at least one day," said Cox.
