Gourin in Cruise Control in 9-1 Win
Syracuse starter Steve Gourin kept the Hialeah hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 9-1. The Dodos drop to 8-8 and continue their mediocre start to the 2051 season.

Gourin, who dominated for Syracuse, earned the victory to move to 2-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 8. Hialeah batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Gourin.
