|
The Buffalo White Walkers topped the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 3-2, in United States Premier League action at Pittsburgh Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Buffalo pitcher and Lévis, Canada, native Qu-bing Li. Magnus Belli got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Mario Rosales earned the save for Buffalo, his 2nd of the year.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Emílio Pueblo came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Pittsburgh pitcher Elton Ray, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Buffalo on top, 3-2.
Li called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
