Bakersfield Decked by Patton, Starks
|
Buddy Patton was a vital contributor to the 8-3 Syracuse victory over Bakersfield. The Starks first baseman was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. The Starks, with only their 4th win in 16 games, have not had much to write home about in 2051.
With Syracuse leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Patton hit a fastball from David Sullivan for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Starks ahead, 4-1.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Patton.
