Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Blitzkrieg
|
Ballpark of Port Royal was the site for M3L Triple A action featuring the Port Royal Disaster and Port Huron Blitzkrieg.
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg faced a tough opponent in Port Royal pitcher Katsumoto Ine, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Port Royal by a final score of 5-2. Ine went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Port Huron pitcher Oscar Cates got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jeremiah Cole got the loss. Rich Walker recorded the save for Port Huron, his 12th of the season.
Port Huron used the timely hitting of Grady Livingston to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blitzkrieg on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame comments to the Port Huron Gazette, Livingston said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The first-place Blitzkrieg have a one-game lead in their division.
