Brass Win 5-4 Walk-Off

Baton Rouge Brass starter Kevin Swanson was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Kansas Rainbeaus, 5-4. Baton Rouge reliever Shintaro Oyama got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Alberto Ramos was tagged with the loss. Losses have been rare for the Rainbeaus, who are now 9-3.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 4-4, left fielder Pancho Cháves won it for Baton Rouge. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Cháves hit a 3-0 fastball from Carl Harris for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 5-4 win.
"Both teams played hard," said Baton Rouge manager Daniel Edwards.
