The Bamboo Forest was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds had to overcome a fine effort from Sioux Falls pitcher Callum Rollings to grab a narrow 1-0 win at The Bamboo Forest. Rollings went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Ellenburg reliever Jeff Moore picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Callum Rollings shouldered the loss. Mario Ledezma finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Ellenburg used a timely hit from Bake McBride to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fighting Dachshunds ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"I like what I saw today," said Ellenburg manager Justin Broadfoot, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
Ellenburg is 11th in the Menard's AAA with a record of 13-19.
