Squirrel Monkeys Beat Nobles, 5-2
|
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys got a stellar performance from pitcher Billy Ramsey, who handcuffed the Bakersfield offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Jerome Grounds. In 7.1 innings, Ramsey surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Thomas Sangrey was credited with the save for Syracuse, his 4th of the season.
Syracuse catcher Daniel Woods made an impact. He drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the second. For the game, Woods was 2-4 with a double.
"I had a good game plan," said Ramsey. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Scott Garrison said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
With the loss, Bakersfield drops to 5-4.
