The Zoo in Syracuse was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys and Syracuse Starks.
Syracuse rode a decent outing from starter Ronald Love to victory over the Syracuse Starks. The final score was 5-4. Thomas Sangrey recorded the save, his 2nd.
The Squirrel Monkeys got an important contribution from left fielder Shan Gui, who in the bottom of the fifth punched a full count fastball into right-center for a bases-clearing double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 5-1.
"Ronald was throwing strikes, locating well," said Syracuse manager Scott Garrison.
Syracuse is now 3-2.
