The home crowd had a good time watching the Syracuse Starks and Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys get after it.

Syracuse pitcher Dudley Malone did his part in helping his team beat the Syracuse Starks, 4-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 8 innings, Malone surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. The save was credited to Thomas Sangrey, his 1st.

The Starks had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Squirrel Monkeys going into the bottom of the third inning.
