The Sioux Falls Red Pandas got a superb performance from pitcher Lewis Thompson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Vermont. The Lake Monsters won the game, 3-1. Thompson threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. Sioux Falls is 8-3 after the loss.

Vermont used the clutch hitting of Jorge Gonzáles to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Lake Monsters the lead, 2-1. For the game, Gonzáles had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Gonzáles told the Vermont Chronicle. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
