Red Pandas Suffer 4-1 Setback
|
Quentin Gamble never let Sioux Falls get something going. The Nashville right-hander commanded his cutter in pitching the Hot Chickens to a 4-1 win. Gamble went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 1-0. Earning his 1st save of the year was Alejandro Colón.
The Hot Chickens got a big at-bat from left fielder Yoshihide Tanaka. For the game, Tanaka went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Nashville a 3-1 lead.
"It's a mindset," said Gamble. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
The defeat makes Sioux Falls 5-2.
