The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC topped the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 5-1, in Menard's Third League action at Great Northern Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Thunder Bay pitcher Hakizimana Kipkorir. Kipkorir picked up the win for Thunder Bay, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. Dan Taylor closed the door for Thunder Bay, picking up his 4th save of the year.

William Penn made an early impact for Thunder Bay when he stroked his 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came with one out in the bottom of the first, put the Northern Lions BC on top, 2-0.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Penn said in reaction to the win.
