Narrow Win Takes Kingston Township Streak to 8
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves got a superb performance from pitcher Yaichiro Shini, but the Kingston Township Knights still won the game, 3-2. Shini threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Santiago Proximo picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 4-1. The 4th-place Knights raised their record to 16-11.
Kingston Township used the clutch hitting of Steve Miller to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Knights ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Vancouver skipper David Krause.
