Kingfishers Come Up Short at Boston, 4-3
|
Boston Patriots starter Luis Rosário was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 4-3. Rosário went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-3. Bertrand Scotton, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Salvador Ortega, who is tied for 9th in the PL in bases on balls with 9, chipped in for Boston with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Pittsburgh skipper Tyler Johnson, "and it cost us."
The 7th-place Patriots improved to 12-13.
