The Hollywood Shredders got a good effort from starter Jamie Hunter in defeating the San Mateo Dirty Reds at The Hollywood Bowl. The final score was 3-2. In 7 innings, Hunter surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Jack Buyse earned save number 5 this season.

Luis Chávez had a clutch at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for the Shredders. Coming up with the bases loaded and Hollywood trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.

Afterward, Shredders manager Bill Cheese was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
