Grey Wolves Drop Battery, 1-0
|
Vancouver pitcher Todd Wallace did his part in helping his team beat the Charleston Battery, 1-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Wallace, now 2-2. He tossed 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 10. Ernie Jones was credited with the save for Vancouver, his 2nd of the season.
The Grey Wolves got a big boost from center fielder Raleigh Adams who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth inning off Battery hurler Paul Haines. It was his 4th RBI of the season and put Vancouver on top, 1-0.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Charleston manager Matt Hunt, "let me know."
For the Battery, the loss makes their record 8-13.
