Battery Fall to Grey Wolves, 3-0
|
Vancouver Grey Wolves starter Marx Lieftink hurled his team past the Charleston Battery, 3-0. Lieftink picked up the win for Vancouver, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. The Battery fall to 7-12 and continue to sputter in the early going.
The Grey Wolves got an important contribution from catcher Jesús Vargas, who in the bottom of the third hit a 1-2 curveball into right-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Grey Wolves ahead, 3-0.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Lieftink told the Vancouver Herald.
