Battery Suffer 7-3 Setback
|
The Buckhead Bowties racked up a win at Charleston Armory, bumping off the Charleston Battery, 7-3. Uhi Ahipene, who started for Buckhead, pitched effectively for his team. Ahipene picked up the win for Buckhead, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. The Battery fall to 6-11 and continue their uneven start to the 2051 season.
Buckhead shortstop Ron Jackson contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a cutter into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 8th hit of the season and put the Bowties ahead, 4-0.
When asked about his performance after the game, Ahipene said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
