Stingers, Aalbers Deal Knights 4-2 Setback
|
Toledo turned a good effort from starter Volmer Aalbers into a win over the Kingston Township Knights at Cloverdale Legion Park. The final score was 4-2. Claude Richardson picked up the save, his 3rd. The win leaves Toledo with a record of 5-2.
Aalbers was effective for Toledo, seldom allowing the Knights to square up a pitch. The left-hander tossed 99 pitches over 7.1 innings. He limited Kingston Township to just 1 run on 3 hits.
"I just made my pitches," said Aalbers, "and the ball kept missing the bat."
