Flamingos Stick Rainbow Mermaids with 5-3 Loss
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos stopped the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 5-3, at The Strip. The Flamingos got a big game from Joy-shan Tung, who was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was Nelson McNeil in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Sean Murphy took the loss. The Rainbow Mermaids, now 36-68, have lost 5 straight.
Yamato Sato, who finished 3rd in the SL in RBI with 81 in 2045, aided the Las Vegas cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
