Oakland used a superb performance from starting pitcher Jason Kofod to down the Nova Scotia Leviathan, 6-1. The first-place Oaks are now 63-36, the Leviathan 38-61.
In the top of the fifth, Oakland left fielder Lorenzo García had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, García stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 5-1, Oakland. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I felt good up there," said García. "I saw the ball well."
