Cape Coral Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids got a magnificent performance from pitcher Mike Bergquist, who muffled the Cape Coral offense en route to a tight 2-0 Rainbow Mermaids win at Factory of Sadness. The win puts Northern Virginia at 34-61.
Eric Cowart, the 23-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cowart contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Northern Virginia up, 2-0.
"I know we have our doubters," said Cape Coral manager Greg Diersing. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
