Big Bang! 3 HR for MSL Toledo's MacFadden Sunday, August 7th , 2050 It's a rare event when a player hits three homers in a game and rarer still when he does it and loses. It happened at MSL Toledo Ballpark today, as Ben MacFadden of the MSL Toledo Stingers unloaded three times against the MSL D.C. Divided but was still bumped off 8-7 by the Divided. "We were lucky to win today," said MSL D.C. skipper Dave Lee. "You can't give up that many home runs and expect to win on a regular basis." For the game, the MSL Toledo right fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 times, and drove in 3. MacFadden spoke to the writers in the postgame press room with mixed feelings, saying he was sad to lose but happy to be seeing the ball well. "I was just trying to swing early and often to give myself a chance," he said. "I let the pitcher supply all the power and try to figure out how to get the bat on the ball." Ben MacFadden hit a solo-shot off Allan Edrada in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Allan Edrada in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Aurelio Galindo in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. So far on the season MacFadden is hitting .351 with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 53 hits and played in 37 games. |
